Since 1996 LARKIN+ continues to provide professional land use planning consulting services to a diverse client base. Reflecting the nature of planning, LARKIN+ continues to evolve and grow, expanding its capabilities in complementary areas associated with its core service offering. Thus in the past few years LARKIN+ has created an Urban Design department and integrated Geographic Information Systems to enhance its abilities and provide its clients with a quality customer experience.

Complimentary skillsets and a dynamic, interactive workplace allows us to utilize myriad perspectives to work towards a common goal: delivering preferred results in a concise manner.

Our industry is constantly changing, which is why we put a significant value on personal growth and learning. We stay informed about and leverage new technologies to deliver more accurate and cost-efficient solutions, with reports customized for your project. Our approach is to achieve consensus wherever possible amongst the various stakeholders in the planning process. This inclusive approach ensures each project is given a balanced and healthy variety of perspectives.

Planning is a global profession

At LARKIN+ we benefit from having team members who are actively involved in their chosen profession. Whether it is as a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners, (CIP) the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI), or the American Planning Association (APA), we take our professional responsibilities seriously.

  • Since 1919 the CIP has provided Canada’s planning community with a public voice in matters related to the use land, our resources, facilities and services with consideration to physical, economic, and social efficiency focused on the health and well-being of Canada’s urban and rural communities.
  • Assuming similar responsibilities on a Provincial level in Ontario is OPPI. Its members have the designation of “Registered Professional Planners” (RPP) signifying that they are skilled professionals who work to improve the quality and livability of Ontario communities.

CIP, RTPI and the APA are signatory members of the Global Planners Network, having signed the Vancouver Declaration for “furtherance of inclusionary and sustainable planning practice worldwide”. The knowledge shared by our planners with international experience improves LARKIN+’s capacity for understanding planning and the challenges faced in achieving sustainable development.
